Recycle!

What I forgot to mention on my previous post was that the card I made was on a recycled base. I used cards that I bought more than a few Christmas' past - before we started sending newsletters for the holidays; before I started making my own cards. Here is a picture of the original cards I started with:
And here is what some other ones look like after they got a new front:
For this first one I used Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird - from the Apron Strings August'09 Small kit. Baker's twine from DKMdiva. The rest are scraps from my stash.
For this set I used a Jenni Bowlin paper and Jillibean-Soup Sprouts I got in the Apron Strings May'10 card kit. Eyelets from Eyelet Outlet & Brads. Ribbon from my stash.

I'll also send these to Operation Write Home.

Operation Write Home

SRM has teemed up with Operation Write Home and this is the sketch for their challenge:
This is the card I made:
I used Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird - from the Apron Strings August'09 Small kit. October Afternoon Mini Market Alpha Stickers from the Mosh Posh February'10 kit. Crochet trim and button from the Apron Strings May'10 small kit.

Yummy

Here is a LO I made with pictures of my youngest savoring his tortilla with guacamole:
I used the Lily Bee Hello, Sunshine collection from the Apron Strings May'10 small kit and the Mosh Posh May'10 kit. Buttons from the Apron Strings kit. The Thickers came in the Mosh Posh kit, the Sassafras Lass glitter alphas came in the Country Home July'10 kit I won at Color me Miki. The Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type and Reminisce journaling spot are from my stash. Buttons attached with Glue Dots. All other adhesive from Glue Arts: pictures were attached with a Glue Glider Pro, except the center one, which was propped up with U Cut It adhesive foam; paper flowers attached with extreme adhesive squares.

Togetherness

I gave up on getting any good prints from PhotoWork. They tried reprinting my order after I showed them the Walgreen's prints, but the new batch was just as bad as the first. I ordered some prints from Snapfish to try it out. They looked great, so the problem is not with my files. Here is a LO I made with some Cosmo Cricket Togetherness (Mosh Posh September'10 kit  and add-on) and Material Girl (March'10 kit).
Jenni Bowlin journaling spot, Making Memories brads, rhinestones and ribbon from my stash.

8x8 Mini album

This is the first time I tried layouts in 8x8 size. It was a bit hard because, as this is a gift, I don't have photos for them and I wanted to keep the mats for standard 4x6 prints. I also couldn't cover the mats with embellishments, which I think would have used the space better... For this project I used the August'10 Mosh Posh kit, with a few extras from previous kits and my stash. Most of the cardstock is American craft and were add-ons to the different kits this year. The adhesive is Glue Arts (Glue Glider Pro, Extreme squares), Glue Dots and some foam squares from Therm-O-Web.
Hambly Sudios - needlework - rub-ons (September'10 kit). Lily bee - Lovely - papers and rub-ons (August'10 kit), Studio Calico rub-on stitches (April'10 kit) and October Afternoon -Thrift Shop - paper (June'10 kit).
Sassafras Lass - Indie Girl - border stickers and paper(August'10 kit). American Craft cardstock, Jenni Bowlin Studios journaling circle and K&Co. - Que Sera Sera - border from my stash. I cut the pocket using a Coluzzle template.
October Afternoon -Thrift Shop - paper and Dear Lizzy Flower Ribbon (June'10 kit). Thickers from my stash (I added some color to them to match the flower and button from the August'10 kit).
Buttons, ribbon and fastener from my stash.
October Afternoon Ledger Mini Market Stickers (June'10 kit). Ribbon from my stash.
SEI cardstock, buttons, Thickers alphas and stitches rub-on runner  from my stash.
Making Memories flowers; jewel brad from Eyelet Outlet & Brads.
K&Co paper flower brads - Blue Awning metal art and off-white paper from my stash.
Creative Imaginations pearls from my stash.
Coredinations cardstock (background), Making Memories button and May Arts sheer/dots ribbon from my stash.
Chipboard and button came in the August'10 kit. The title came from a baby book paper pack that I've had since my 4-year-old was born...
Sassafras Lass paper whimsies - Via Air Mail (August'10 add-on). Coredination (blue) and DCWV (pink) cardstock from my stash.
Paper flowers from the American Crafts Heat Wave collection - BeachHouse (August'10). Title sticker from my stash (another baby book leftover...)
I'd love to see this after the photos are added!

Happy card

Here is a Happy Birthday Card I made for the Tuesday Trio sketch #35 challenge:
I used Lily Bee Hello, Sunshine paper and die-cut from the Mosh Posh May'10 kit. SRM sticker, ribbon and paper clip from my stash. I've been wanting to attach a clip to a ribbon since I saw Taylor's card on Craft Critique. And here is the sketch:

card

I fell in love with the Sassafras Lass Indie Girl collection when I first saw it. I couldn't think of how I would manage to scrap any boy pictures with it but I wanted it anyway. I was so excited when it came in my Mosh Posh August'10 kit! When I got the kit, a friend of mine came to mind and I decided to make her a mini-album for her baby girl - I've been meaning to make one since she was born! I just sent it out in the mail and here is the card I made to go with it:

This card was based on the Tuesday Trio sketch #34 and the challenge was to use buttons.
I'll post the album LOs after it gets delivered - just in case my friend stops by unannounced ;)

Get well soon card

This is a card I made for a college friend who had a stroke last week. She is recovering well and my thoughts are with her...
I used October Afternoon - Thrift Shop - papers and American Crafts cardstock from the Mosh Posh June'10 kit. Jenni Bowlin Butterfly Banner Stickers were from the Mosh Posh July'10 kit; I applied some Mod Podge - Paper - to the wings to seal the adhesive and make them pop up. The May Arts sheer/dots ribbon was from my stash and the greeting is inside - "Get Well Soon" Kaisercraft Rub-on from the Apron Strings May'10 card kit. I recently won some stuff from the Glue Arts blog. I used my new Glue Glider Pro to adhere the papers and some Extreme Squares to attach the ribbon behind the paper.

Diaper cake

Here is a totally different project I made with the apple paper from Best Creation Inc - teachers pet, a diaper cake for my 2 year-old's teacher who will be going on maternity leave this week.
I used 72 size 2 Pampers Swaddlers and there is a bottle of Johnson's Baby Head-to-Toe in the center of the base to give it structure. I forgot to take a picture of the plate, on which I used a Sassafras paper to mask the 4th of July motif.

Happy New Year

September 8th is the start of the Jewish New Year and to celebrate we eat apples and honey for a sweet year. It's easy to make cards, as there are many apple papers in stores because it is fall and the start of the school year. When I was picking Dada up in Orlando last week, I stopped at the Scrappy Boutique and found this fun paper from Best Creation Inc - teachers pet, that made very cute Rosh Hashanah cards:
I used scraps of cardstock and ribbon. Baker's twine from DKMdiva, mini alphas from Cosmo Cricket (yellow) and Adornit (green). I cut the envelopes with a Coluzzle template from old papers from my stash.
